Manna from Heaven was incorporated in January 2004 by a group of concerned citizens of Cumberland County, NJ, who recognized the need for a locally based effort to stimulate individuals and community development through economic development activities and programs. Manna from Heaven is not a religious organization, but an organization that does not promote a particular domination or restrict participation to those who ascribe to a certain set of religious beliefs. The corporation’s philosophy and vision are rooted in Christian and humanitarian principles and the acknowledgement of spirituality as an important dimension in human life.

The Corporation’s mission, through those economic development activities and programs, is to feed those who are hungry in Bridgeton and the county (Cumberland); to promote and encourage the development of a sense purpose and accomplishment in the disadvantaged and less fortunate.

Thus, the Corporation is a non-profit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the non-profit Corporation Law of New Jersey exclusively for non-profit purposes as a local organization. The duration of the Corporation is perpetual.

The Corporation shall not have capital stock.

The corporation elects to have no members. Any action that would otherwise require a vote of members shall require only a vote of the members of the Board of Directors, and no meeting or vote of members shall be required for this Corporation, any provision of the Articles of Incorporation of the Bylaws of the Corporation to the contrary notwithstanding.

No part of the activities of this Corporation shall consist of carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the Corporation shall not participate or intervene in any political campaign (including the publishing or distribution of statements) on behalf of any candidate for public office.
